Here is how Bellafill can help you by using its tiny polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) microspheres that are suspended within a base of smooth collagen gel. Bellafill’s PMMA microspheres provide a platform that supports the body’s natural collagen production by replacing the collagen gel as it develops over time. This collagen assembles a foundation that adds volume to wrinkles, reducing their appearance and providing you natural-looking outcomes for up to 5 years. Suneva the manufacturer of Bellafill provides its providers with allergy testing. Mainly due to in the beginning, in 2006 was based on the original injected bovine collagen. Suneva has made changes in the product to reduce reactions.
The FDA has not changed the indication yet and the US is the only country that still suggests but is in the works to change.
So it may not be the general standard practice anymore to test. We’d rather be safe and know more for sure; we asked you, and skin test for those that have a history of allergic reactions to red meat, milk, or any other cow products that would alert to do this test, which is within 30 days of injecting, about 15 minutes to double-check, most usually do while numbing.
